IIIT Basara Students In Depression: Governor
Tamilisai Soundararajan today visited the RGUKT (IIIT) at Basara and called on the students who have been on an agitational path for the past two months.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan today visited the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) at Basara and called on the students who have been on an agitational path for the past two months.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the students were in depression due to lack of facilities, and that the maintenance of the hostel mess was very poor.
Soundararajan reached Basara early in the morning by train from Secunderabad and directly drove to the famous Saraswati temple. She offered prayers to the presiding deity and took blessings from the priests.
She then visited the RGUKT campus and inspected the facilities being provided by the government. She also moved around the hostel rooms and mess, and enquired about the problems by interacting with the students.
She said that there was inadequate teaching staff in the campus, and that laptops had not been given to students since 2017.
She assured the students that she would take their problems to the notice of the State government, and would try to get the problems resolved as early as possible.
"Whatever problems are prevailing in the campus can be resolved easily," she said.
The Governor also appealed to the students not to neglect their education and focus on it despite the problems in the campus.
