The state's brand new Union Minister for Tourism, K. Chiranjeevi made the pleasant discovery, that Hyderabad is the world's third most popular tourist destination after San Francisco and Amsterdam, at the World Travel Market 2012 that was held recently in the United Kingdom.
The selection criteria, said Mr. Chiranjeevi, included various parameters like development, infrastructure, connectivity, culture, heritage, and tourist spots.
At the APREDA Property Show 2012 that was ingurated at HITEX on Saturday, the Union Minister gave due credit to the city's infrastructure and real estate industry for putting Hyderbad among the world's top three tourist spots.
Mr. Chiranjeevi said that both the sectors have been responsible for 33 million jobs, and that growth in these sectors would go a long way in reducing poverty and developing the nation.
Talking about his acting days, he let fall a tid-bit about how he had been offended by and mistrustful of one of his producer's advice that he should invest in property at Madhapur, marvelling at the about-face the area has taken.
