Hyderabad Developed Long Before Naidu: Congress
"Naidu has been wearing "yellow glasses" of TDP during his "Vastunna Mee Kosam" padayatra and, therefore, has been trying to take credit for every good thing in the state."
Congress MLC Yadav Reddy on Wednesday ridiculed the claims of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu over the development of Hyderabad.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Yadav Reddy said that Naidu was not aware of Hyderabad's history. He said that compared to any other city in the country, Hyderabad was the first to have an airline, railways, the best road infrastructure, university and a super-specialty hospital. The city also had an excellent system of drinking water supply and drainage system. Further, the Assembly, Raj Bhavan, Secretariat and government guest houses buildings were in existence when the erstwhile Hyderabad state was merged with the Indian Union.
Yadav Reddy said that successive governments only took steps to maintain the infrastructure created by the Asaf Jahis rulers. The huge infrastructure was originally meant for a population of only 4.5 lakh. However, the present-day governments were finding it difficult even to maintain the same.
The Congress MLC said that the TDP chief should learn about Hyderabad's history before making false claims that he developed the Hyderabad city. He alleged Naidu has been wearing "yellow glasses" of TDP during his "Vastunna Mee Kosam" padayatra and therefore, has been trying to take credit for every good thing in the state. (INN)
