Labor Minister Danam Nagender, on Tuesday, reiterated that any proposal to make Hyderabad a Union Territory would be opposed tooth and nail.
Talking to reporters, Danam said that there should no change in the status of Hyderabad after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that although the proposal to make Hyderabad the joint capital of two states for 10 years is acceptable, the city should not be converted into a Union Territory. He said that Hyderabad should remain the capital of the Telangana state.
Danam said that he, along with other Congress leaders from Hyderabad, would make a representation to the high-powered A K Antony Committee on the status of Hyderabad. (INN)
