City Police Set Up Tea Stall For Reformed Criminal

Following a change of behaviour in 25-year-old Karravula Srinivas Reddy, who served jail sentences in theft cases, the Hyderabad police have set up a tea stall for him at the Neredmet cross roads, as a sort of rehabilitation to enable him lead a better and honest life.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, Cyberabad, said in a press note that the tea stall was being opened today.

Reddy studied SSC in Lalapet, and in the year 2008, got into a friendship with bad elements, resulting in his being sent to jail for complicity in a cell phone theft case. He got acquainted with unscrupulous cellmates in the jail, and after coming out, got addicted to vices.

In 2014 he was arrested by the Kushaiguda police for breaking and entering, and confessed that he had indeed committed a series of nocturnal house-breaking misdemeanours, resulting in a jail sentence. After coming out of jail in 2015, he approached the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, and expressed his desire to lead an honest life hereon. The Commissioner considered his change of behaviour, and instructed the local police to set up a tea stall for him.

The press note said that the Cyberabad Commissioner was ready to extend rehabilitation to such ex-convicts who came forward with changes of heart, and to enable them get financial help through loans from banks.
