Hyderabad police apprehends the absconding accused in the 2010 communal riots case.
On March 10, detectives of the Commissioner's Task Force, South Zone Team, after enormous efforts, earthed out clues and apprehended the absconding accused Syed Irfan a.k.a Irfan (23), a salesman at Saudi Arabia, son of Late. Syed Javed, and resident of New Road, Shah-ali-banda, Hyderabad for two murders and two attempted murders during the 2010 communal riots.
Reportedly, he had fled away to Saudi Arabia to evade the arrest. On returning to Hyderabad, he was apprehended at Shah-ali-banda.
On interrogation, the accused confessed that on March 29, 2010, during the communal riots, he had been a part of an unlawful assembly at the new road in Shah-ali-banda, with a common intention to promote enmity among different communities, and armed with deadly weapons, he had assaulted people from the Hindu community.
As a result of this breach of law, two people were murdered, and two others were critically injured.
The accused fled to Saudi Arabia where he used to work as salesman, to evade arrest, since the commission of the offence.
The accused was handed over to the CCS, SIT, till further necessary action is taken against him.
The arrest has been made by K V Surya Prakash Rao, Inspector of the South Zone Task Force Team, along with SIs and staff under the supervision of B Limba Reddy, Addl Dy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner's Task Force. (INN)
