Mayor's Surprise Visit To GHMC Call Centre
Mayor Majid Hussain expresses his dissatisfaction with the workings of the GHMC call centre, and holds a review meeting to address the centre's shortcomings.
GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain has directed GHMC Commissioner M T Krishna Babu to conduct weekly reviews on the functioning of the GHMC 24/7 call centre (whose toll-free number is 155304).
The Mayor held a review meeting, about the call centre, with GHMC Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (Admn.) and Additional Commissioner (IT) in his chambers today.
Majid Hussain has appreciated the functioning of the call centre so far. He is also reportedly impressed with the escalation mechanism maintained in the centre.
However, he was reported to be furious with the workings of the ground level staff, who (according to him) were not performing their duties responsibly, and that they were handling customer grievances as if they were mere trifles.
The Mayor then went on to reveal that he had been forced to make a surprise visit to the call centre after he had received a lot of complaints against the centre.
Majid Hussain directed the Commissioner that stringent action be taken against the staff members, including the Deputy Commissioners, for their negligent attitude towards their duties.
He further directed the Additional Commissioner (IT) to update the information regarding transfers of the field level staff, into the database of the call centre at regular intervals. (INN)
