The polling for the Hyderabad Local Body MLC seat election was conducted smoothly today.
Election Returning Officer (RO) Anurag Jayanthi reported a voter turnout of 78.57% as of 4 pm.
Out of 112 eligible voters, 88 cast their votes at the two polling stations set up at the GHMC headquarters. 31 of the 112 were ex-officio members, and 22 of them voted.
Additionally, 66 out of 81 corporators exercised their franchise.
Election observers and RO Surendra Mohan visited the polling stations to monitor the process. And after the polling concluded, the ballot boxes were securely transported to the reception centre, inspected and stored in the strong room.
Enhanced police security has been arranged at the strong room.
The counting of votes is scheduled to begin at 8 am on April 25 at Panwar Hall in the GHMC headquarters.
