The RGI airport's customs unit at the Shamshabad airport has seized 20 kgs of a narcotic drug - suspected to be Ketamine - from a passenger. The total value of the seized goods is expected to be Rs. 2 crores.
Based on intelligent profiling, the officers of the customs' Air Intelligence unit, C-Batch, intercepted a passenger called Hunguana Joana Samuel, who was leaving for Abu Dhabi.
On being questioned by the officers about the possession of any prohibited goods, the passenger denied possessing any such contraband stuff.
However, after detailed examination, the officers recovered the large quantity of drug which had been deftly concealed in the check-in baggage.
The passenger was interrogated and she admitted to the offence. A follow-up investigation is being carried out. (INN)
