Calling for people-centric New Year celebrations, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar today urged police officers to celebrate the New Year within their respective jurisdictions by directly engaging with the public.
In a message to the force, the Commissioner asked officers to spend time with the people by visiting schools, colleges, orphanages and old-age homes, instead of attending formal meetings with senior officers.
"As we step into the New Year, all officers are directed to celebrate the occasion within their respective jurisdictions by engaging with the community," he said.
Extending New Year greetings to police personnel and their families, Sajjanar praised their professionalism in ensuring public safety, and said that the initiative reinforced the department's commitment to community policing and strengtheningh the bond between the police and the public.
