Hyderabad District Collector Amoy Kumar today refuted the allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the Group-1 prelims exam in the capital.
The Collector said that the Group-1 exam was conducted after a delay due to the mistakes committed by some invigilators at three examination centres of the city.
He said that 47 aspirants at the Saint Francis De Sales Centre were given question papers in the wrong language, and that it had created confusion among those aspirants.
The invigilators realised their mistake and gave new OMR sheets to the aspirants, but the aspirants held a protest assuming that the TSPSC would not evaluate their papers due to the issuance of the new OMR sheets.
He said that the officials of the Commission then assuaged the concerns of the aspirants, and also allowed them to write the exam till 3:30 pm.
He asserted that the additional time had been allotted in order to compensate the candidates for time that they had lost.
He also said that departmental action would be taken against the invigilators who were responsible for the delay in the conduct of the exam.
