The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently in Nellore to question two high-security inmates of the Nellore Central Jail, who reportedly recieved a visit from Syed Maqbool, a prime suspect in the Dilsukhnagar twin blast case, and a prominent Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative.
Maqbool, 35, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail, New Delhi, was arrested last year in Hyderabad while on a reconnaissance mission. According to records at the Nellore Central Jail, he had reportedly visted Feroz Khan and Ali Khan together on 4 January 2012 for about 40 minutes, much longer than the stipulated time limit of 20 minutes.
The authorities at the police station have also fallen under suspicion for having allowed a minimally supervised visit to high security prisoners in the first place, and for having allowed the visit to last that long.
