Hold GHMC Polls By December 15: High Court

Rejection the government's request seeking more time, the HC said it was improper to run the corporation under a Special Officer instead of an elected body.

The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana government to complete the process of elections for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by December 15.

Rejection the state government's request seeking more time to hold the GHMC polls, the High Court said that it was improper to run the corporation under a Special Officer instead of an elected body.

The HC directed that the delimitation of wards and reservation be completed before October 31, and the elections process be over in the next one-and-a-half months. (INN)
