The Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) 108 services across the state were disrupted following a hoax call to Kompalli Call centre in Medchal on the outskirts of city on Monday.
According to police, the EMRI 108 ambulance service headquarters here received a threat on the possibility of a bomb from a caller (tel no. 96188-34158) who stated that a bomb was planted at the call centre and might explode in minutes.
Immediately the police swung into action with sniffer dogs, and pressed the bomb disposal squad into service. The police evacuated the staff from the call centre premises.
The bomb disposal squad searched the office premises but the officials did not find any explosive material at the centre, declaring the call as a hoax.
The police are investigating the case.
