Heavy to very heavy rains have been lashing Telangana for the last 24 hours.
The rains have hit various parts of the capital Hyderabad, inundating several areas of the city. This has caused huge problems to the residents of the city, especially those who needed to go out of their houses for work, and were drenched completely and also battled knee-high water levels in many roads.
Vehicle users also faced a lot of problems due to potholes.
The situation was the same in many districts.
The met authorities have said that the the state would continue to witness rains for the next 24 hours, and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar instructed all the district Collectors to keep their respective district administrations on high alert to ensure no loss of life and properties. Special vigil needed to be maintained in low-lying and vulnerable areas, Kumar said. Leaves and permissions for all relevant government employees should be cancelled, the Collectors were also told.
