Heavy Rain Claims Three Lives In Hyderabad

The weather in Hyderabad suddenly turned cool today due to an unseasonal heavy rain in the afternoon. However, tragedy accompanied that, too - three persons died when a wall fell on them in Aramgarh due to the rain and accompanying gales.

The rain in general created havoc due to the gales. Power supply was stopped in several areas for hours, and vehicular traffic came to a halt in many key areas due to trees getting uprooted and blocking roads. A car, an autorickshaw and two two-wheelers were destroyed when a huge tree fell on them on Necklace Road. GHMC personnel removed the uprooted trees with the help of the traffic police.

Ashok Nagar, Chikkadpally, the RTC crossroads, Nampally, Abids, Koti, Khairatabad, Masab Tank, Basheerbagh, Bahadurpura, Yakutpura, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Saidabad, Musheerabad, Malkajgiri, Kushaiguda, ECIL, OU and Tarnaka were among the areas that received heavy rain.

It rained not just in Hyderabad but in all the Telangana districts. The state government directed all the District Collectors to remain alert.
