Questioning the delay in registering a criminal case under Sections 420, 471 and 120 (B) of the IPC against Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday directed the police to book the MP for submitting fake educational documents to obtain US visas for his siblings.
The court also ordered the police to submit a comprehensive report in this connection within 2 weeks.
The court issued these directions to the police based on a petition filed by former RTC Chairman Gone Prakash Rao in 2009.
Prakash Rao had earlier approached the High Court seeking it to order the registration of a criminal case against the Nizamabad MP. The former RTC Chairman had stated in his petition that Yaskhi Goud was well aware that his siblings were going to submit fake educational documents while applying for a visa to the United States of America.
Prakash Rao had stated in his petition that this was tantamount to human trafficking. The Congress leader had also claimed in his petition that Madhu Yaskhi’s brother Vivekananda Yaskhi had obtained his engineering degree from the Gulbarga University in December 1992 without even graduating from there.
“He did so with the active connivance of Madhu Yashki. Similarly, the MP’s other siblings also managed to obtain fake degrees from the Gulbarga and Kakatiya universities, again with his help,” Prakash Rao had stated.
Prakash Rao had further pointed out that no action was taken against the MP even after the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department) had submitted a report to Police Commissioner Prasada Rao that the documents submitted were fake.
