The Congress today strongly criticised BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao for trying to "defame" the State government.
Speaking at a press conference at the media conference hall on the premises of the Assembly, Congress MLAs Revuri Prakash Reddy, K Nagaraju and T Megha Reddy said that Rao was speaking unethically when he claimed that the government and police had failed.
"First of all, BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy spoke using abusive language, and insulted women when he sent bangles to his fellow MLA Arekapudi Gandhi who had defected from the BRS to the Congress. He provoked Gandhi saying that he would come to his house. Kaushik Reddy is the person responsible for the entire episode. It's atrocious that Rao, instead of reprimanding Kaushik, is extending support to his MLA," Revuri Prakash Reddy said.
"Harish Rao is saying that the police are blackmailing the BRS leaders. However, Harish Rao and Kaushik Reddy behaved like rowdies at the CP office, something all the people saw, but the police still did not file any cases against them. Despite this, Harish Rao is trying to blame the government with false propaganda," he said.
