Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed officials to prepare an irrigation action plan for the upcoming Rabi season.
Speaking at a review meeting on Tuesday, Rao asked officials to come up with a detailed action plan for Rabi on ways to distribute adequate waters to the tail-end farmer.
Rao said that he would hold another meeting on Wednesday to discuss on Rabi, the ongoing projects, project-wise action plans, completion of the second phase of Mission Kakatiya, preparation for third phase of the water project.
He asked the concerned officials to release waters to nine lakh acres of land from the Sri Ram Sagar project and to 6.4 lakh acres of land from the Nagarjunasagar left canal.
Earlier at a program in Medak, Rao said that 10,000 MW of energy was allocated for agriculture purposes, and asked the energy department officials to use the allocated power and provide uninterrupted electricity to farmers. He also directed them to implement the nine-hour power supply promise of the State government.
