Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee officials on Sunday clarified that the state government would reimburse an amount of Rs. 955 per pilgrim and not Rs. 1,910 as reported by a section of media.
The SHC officials said that Haj pilgrims of 2013 had paid an amount of Rs. 1910 each towards user charges of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport during Haj 2013. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had promised to bear 50% of the burden of user charges, and had also sanctioned Rs. 74 lakh towards the same. Therefore, each Haj pilgrim of 2013 will get a reimbursement of Rs. 955 - this will be directly deposited into their bank accounts. (INN)
