Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao stated that he would accept a ministerial post if the prime minister offers him a seat during the expansion of the Union cabinet.
The MP told media persons that in all probability the Union Cabinet will be expanded by the end of January. When the reporters asked him if he would join it, he said, "If luck favours, I will join the cabinet."
Rayapati's statement assumes importance in the wake of mounting speculations of accommodating Congress MPs belonging to Telangana in the cabinet. The MPs are reportedly being included as part of an undeclared 'appeasement' policy by the party, to water down the demands of a separate state.
Reacting to a question about Pulivendula's Assembly by-elections, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said the Congress would win with a thumping majority.
Expressing his gratitude, rural development minister D Manikya Vara Prasad thanked the CM for
sanctioning 75 acres of land for building a super specialty hospital at Mangalagiri in Guntur. He said that the long-pending demand for setting up a hospital was fulfilled.
