Governor E S L Narasimhan extended his greetings and good wishes to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated on Wednesday.
The Governor said that the teachings of the Holy Quran have shaped society over the ages since the advent of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Its tenets of love, compassion, brotherhood, sacrifice and charity have helped humanity transcend into a world free from greed, violence and strife where all humanity is united in a bond of brotherhood and love, he said.
"The Holy Ramzan is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God, and also a reminder that only through rigorous self discipline is it possible to realise the life eternal. On this Ramzan day let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of man, the sanctity of life, and the solemnity of all faiths," he said.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy extended his greetings to Muslims in the state as well, on the auspicious occasion.
In a message, the CM said that fasting during Ramzan is a pathway towards purity of soul in a healthy body. The holy month of Ramzan signifies the will-power of man to attain self-control over his mind and body, and stands a symbol of universal love, selfless service and spiritual maturity in the mainstream of life, he opined.
The eternal values preached by Prophet Mohammed are significant and relevant to every generation since time immemorial, the CM added.
"We are committed to provide education for all Muslim children, and employment opportunities for all those who pass out from colleges. I wish my Muslim brothers and sisters a happy and prosperous Eid-ul-Fitr. May Allah, the most beneficent and merciful, shower his blessings on them", the Chief Minister said, in a message.
The CM said he hoped that the festival would strengthen the bonds of love, compassion and mutual understanding among people, and bring new cheer and prosperity in their lives.
PCC president Botsa Satyanarana, Minorities Welfare Minister Syed Ahmadullah, Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao, fomer union minister and BJP leader Bandaru Dattareyya, GHMC Mayor Banda Kartika Chandra Reddy, Deputy Mayor Jaffer Hussain Meraj, Congress MLC MS Prabhakar and other leaders greeted Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
