The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning to provide 105 vehicles, each costing around Rs 7 lakhs, to unemployed youth.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the "Driver Cum Owner" (DCO) scheme was another innovative initiative taken up by the GHMC, and would enable the drivers to become the owners of the vehicles.
He said that the GHMC would provide financial assistance to the youth, and also help them in getting loans from the State Bank of Hyderabad.
He also said that the GHMC was also trying to get subsidy based upon the caste, from the Industries department.
The 105 vehicles would be handed over to the beneficiaries before the 15th of August, in an event to be attended by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he added. (INN)
