The Health and Sanitation wing of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday closed down 3 eateries for failing to maintain hygienic conditions.
The sealing of the eateries came after a special team conducted surprise inspections in areas of Balkampet and Ameerpet. The special team consisted of Assistant Medical Officers of Health, Food Inspectors with related staff, and enforcement vehicle.
The 3 eateries - Gold Bawarchi Restaurant, Sarovar Restaurant and Bar at Balkampet, and Anu Restaurant and Bar in Ameerpet were also prosecuted for violating the bye-laws of the Regulation of Eating Houses (or) Hotels, 1973.
The GHMC also warned hotel owners to maintain their kitchen and premises in hygienic condition, provide wholesome drinking water and serve freshly prepared food to the customers.
The GHMC Health Wing also warned that periodical inspections of all the eating establishments will be carried out throughout the corporation limits by the respective assistant Health and Food Inspectors, and surprise inspections would be carried out where and when necessary.
