GHMC officials today announced that the flood relief distribution drive had been resumed, and that residents would receive compensation at their doorsteps.
GHMC officials today said that the distribution of flood relief to the residents of Greater Hyderabad was being resumed.
The officials stated that they had already begun the distribution yesterday, and that relief amounts of Rs 10,000 each had been offered to 7,939 flood victims since then.
"We have already deposited Rs 7.9 crore to the bank accounts of some of the affected people. The relief drive is on in full swing again, and the people who have not yet received any financial assistance will soon get it," they said.
They then instructed those eligible for the relief package not to visit the Mee-seva centres with applications for the same, and said that teams of GHMC employees would deliver the aid directly to the people's residences.
The body's officials also condemned as baseless, accusations of not having resumed the flood relief drive, and said that there was no truth in such charges.
Earlier, the TRS government had announced that the relief drive, which had been suspended owing to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the run-up to the GHMC elections, would be resumed from December 7.
