GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar assured students at the City Grandhalaya Samstha at Chikkadpally that all basic civic amenities would be provided to the 2,000 to 3,000 students who are regularly visiting the library as part of their preparations for competitive exams.
The GHMC Commissioner announced that the Rs. 5 food scheme would be introduced in the City Grandhalaya Samstha immediately, duly providing good quality food for about 500 students. If the need arose, even more people could be provided food, he added.
Somesh Kumar informed that Musheerabad MLA Dr. K Laxman had requested him to visit City Grandhalay Samstha, Chikkadpally, as a lot of civic-related issues were being faced and much inconvenience was being causes to the students.
He assured that all basic facilities like drinking water, furniture, electricity, toilets and renovations, wherever they were needed, would be worked upon, and all the works would be completed within a month.
Dr. Laxman thanked the Commissioner for his visit, and said that a Committee with some of the students would be formed, and as the local MLA he would take care of the grievances and place them before the authorities. (INN)
