Alleging that the GHMC officials had indulged in several irregularities to remove voters in the Greater Hyderabad limits from the electoral rolls, TPCC official spokespersons B Kamalakar Rao and G Niranjan said that the officials had failed to implement the Supreme Court directions in this regard.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Kamalakar and Niranjan said that the GHMC officials had been removing voters by linking Aadhaar Cards to voter cards though the Supreme Court had given a clear verdict not to remove voters for the reason that they had no Aadhaar Cards.
The GHMC officials had first removed voters stating that there were 89,000 duplicate voters, and then removed more than six lakh voters for other reasons, they alleged.
It was sad that the GHMC officials had been saying that there were 7.9 lakh duplicate voters even after the verdict of the Supreme Court, they lamented.
They said that they had asked the State Election Commission officials to conduct an all-Party meeting before the issuance of the GHMC election notification. They said that they would approach the courts in case the government released the election notification before correcting the voters' list.
