GHMC Polls: Congress Claims To Be Best For Settlers
The Party demanded that Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao tender an apology to the settlers for using filthy language against them earlier.
Hyderabad | 14th January 2016
Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary stated that Hyderabad had developed to this extent only because of the "settlers", and demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao tender an apology to them for using filthy language against them earlier.
She said that the insecurity among the settlers originally developed when KCR had stated that he would raze Ramoji Film City with one lakh ploughs, and when he demolished the Ayyappa Society buildings.
Chowdhary said that everyone knew that the Congress alone was standing by the settlers' cause. Finding fault with the TRS statement that it would provide protection to the settlers, Chowdhary said that the Constitution was giving protection to the settlers and there was no need of any special protection by the TRS government.
She alleged that the TRS' special love towards the settlers was only because of the upcoming GHMC elections.
Renuka also challenged KTR to make the MLAs who had joined the TRS from other Parties to resign their present positions and face elections again if he had the guts.
She charged the TRS government with totally failing in extending the fee reimbursement, and the 104 and 108 services. The KCR government's achievements were the farmers' suicides and the attacks on hapless women, she quipped.
She exuded confidence that the Congress, which had won in local elections in several other States, would continue its winning spree even in the GHMC elections here.
Jaipal Reddy, too, said that the Congress was a national Party and that every citizen living in Hyderabad was equal for it. He said that the Party would follow the Constitution and not show discrimination against any citizen living in Hyderabad.
TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would announce its candidates for the GHMC elections on January 15 and 16.
