If reports are to be believed, Hyderabad is well on its way to being enmeshed in the web of drugs.
2 narcotics-toting gangs were nabbed by the city police over the last 3 days, and ganja (marijuana) and cocaine were seized from them.
On June 5th, a duo was caught with 5kgs of the ganja at Erragadda, and the culprits were identified as the natives of Warangal selling the marijuana on the orders of one Mumbai Sreenu.
According to sources, college students and IT employees are increasingly opting to temporarily escape from reality with a hand-rolled ganja joint. Depending upon the demand, drug peddlers sell a gram of marijuana anywhere between Rs. 1,000 and Rs, 2,000.
It has been reported that Nampally, Kachiguda, Secunderabad Bus Station and S R Nagar are among the various regions in the twin cities that are emerging as hubs for druggists.
On the other hand, cocaine is being recorded as the preferred narcotic being peddled in Banjara Hills and Jubilee hills. 2 youngsters were on Monday caught with 25 grams of cocaine at Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, and their clintele allegedly includes Tollywood bigwigs, models and fashion designers. It has been reported that a gram of cocaine is priced at Rs. 4,000.
