Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today announced that the Telangana government had decided to present the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards starting from Ugadi this year.
Speaking at the Gaddar Awards Committee meeting held at the Secretariat, Vikramarka instructed the committee members and officials to complete the arrangements quickly.
He said that the awards were intended to recognize and celebrate the best films produced in the Telugu language, and encourage the creation of films that showcased the highest levels of technical expertise and human values, and promoted national integration, unity, and cultural, educational and social relevance.
Vikramarka said that the government would organize the awards distribution ceremony on a grand scale, comparable to national-level programs. He also directed officials to design the award logos in a way that enhanced the legacy of the cultural icon Gaddar.
The awards will be given in various categories including feature films, children's films and books on Telugu cinema. The awards will consist of a cash prize and a certificate of appreciation.
