BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, on Monday, challenged MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi to contest against him from the Amberpet assembly segment if the latter was so confident about his popularity.
Speaking to media personnel, Kishan Reddy criticised the MIM president's
statement wherein the latter had challenged BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to contest from Hyderabad.
Kishan Reddy said that Asaduddin Owaisi's stature was much lower compared to that of Modi or L K Advani.
He also said that an ordinary BJP worker could take on Owaisi, and that the MIM president should contest from Amberpet and win to prove his might.
"There are nearly 50,000 Muslims voters in Amberpet and a majority of them would vote for the BJP," Reddy claimed.
He also ridiculed Owaisi's call for secularism and without taking the name of Akbaruddin Owaisi, he said that the MIM's leader who had earlier delivered speeches against Hindu Gods was still speaking with the same impertinence of tone.
The BJP leader also announced that the party's national president Rajnath Singh will tour Hyderabad on March 11, 2014.
The party is also organising a meeting on March 6 at the Exhibition Grounds to discuss the issues which are to be included in the BJP's manifesto for Telangana. (INN)
