Minister for rural development and NREGS D Manikya Vara Prasad, on Tuesday, stated that that the government has released Rs. 6,080 lakhs towards the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana scheme for 2012-13, which covers death and disability insurance for the benefit of rural landless households.
In a statement issued to the media, Manikya Vara Prasad stated that 38 lakh landless rural labour in AP would benefit from the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana scheme.
Under the scheme, the government would pay a premium of Rs. 160 on each rural landless labourer per year.(INN)
