Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao on Friday slammed the government for allegedly not allocating any money for the supply of water in Telangana.
Reading from a report, the MLA listed out the names of 9 Andhra districts that are to be the beneficiaries of the Rs. 353 crores allocated to the state for water supply by the Union government.
Harish Rao charged that the government was cheating the people of Telangana out of their share of the funds allocated for the state, and that the people of Andhra were leading comfortable lives while the Telangana public suffered.
He demanded that Rural Water Supply Minister Jana Reddy take up the issue immediately and ensure that the funds are re-allocated within a week.
With the mercury levels in the state becoming a cause for concern, the 3rd phase of the TRS' Telangana agitation is more or less on hold, and the ministers are currently concentrating on levying charges against multiple leaders.
