Free Water, Sops To Film Industry In TRS GHMC Election Manifesto

Releasing the TRS manifesto for the GHMC elections, TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today announced that the people of the city would get free water supply of up to 20,000 litres per month from December.

KCR also announced sops for saloons and dhobi ghats in the city and the state as well.

"Free water is already being supplied in Delhi, and I have spoken to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his officials about the same. There were water wars and problems with power supply in the combined state, and we have addressed them all. We will provide adequate drinking waters to the people of the city for the next 50 years by construction of more reservoirs like the one in Keshavapur," KCR said.

The CM also announced the extending of the Metro Rail to the Shamshabad international airport.

He also announced sops for the film industry workers in ration cards, health cards and other facilities, on par with the poor. He said that the film industry was in the doldrums due to the coronavirus, and that industry leaders including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and some top producers had met him and urged government support to the field to help it bounce back. The government would offer complete help to the film industry to enable shootings and open theatres as usual, he said. He also announced a Rs 10 crore reimbursement for films, and said that theatres could hike ticket prices.

Hyderabad was a cosmopolitan city with people from all states making a living here, KCR added, and proceeded to woo them, too. "We have Gujarati Galli, Parsigutta, Sindhi Colony and neighbourhoods of people of many other states, and all the people are happy. We will give each of these communities land for the construction of a community building," he said.

The Chief Minister claimed that Telangana was growing at 12% while the country was growing at just 9%. This was despite the Centre giving nothing to the state despite the coronavirus effect and the floods, he said.

"The TRS government is doing its best for development, and the people should support us by voting for us in the GHMC elections. The opposition parties are coming in the way of development, and are also trying to create panic by spreading religious hatred. The people should remember the secular ethos and development record of the TRS," he said.
