Balladeer Nissar Passes Away Due To Covid-19
Noted folk artiste and Secretary of the Telangana Praja Natya Mandali, Mohammad Nissar Ahmed, died today while undergoing treatment at Continental Hospitals in the city.
Noted folk artiste and Secretary of the Telangana Praja Natya Mandali, Mohammad Nissar Ahmed, died today while undergoing treatment at Continental Hospitals in the city.
He has been undergoing treatment for lung-related problems for the past couple of days, after contracting Covid-19.
Nissar was born in Suddala village of Gundala mandal of Nalgonda district. He started his career as a lorry driver, and later became a conductor.
He used to take part in peoples' agitations out of interest, and participated in hundreds of such agitations.
Noted for his folk songs during the Telangana movement, Nissar was also the state Secretary for the RTC Employees' Union, as also an influential figure in the field of folk music in Telangana.
Activists of civil liberties expressed their condolences over the death of Nissar.
