A major fire accident occurred on the fifth floor of Khan Lateef Khan Estate building near Lal Bahadur Stadium today.
Police and fire services personnel reached the spot and evacuated some 300 people from the building, and thereupon successfully put out the fire, in a three-hour exercise.
Officials suspect that a short circuit in the AC of a tax consultancy on the fifth floor might be the reason for the accident.
Four persons, including two firemen, were trapped in the building, but were rescued without any injuries to them. There were no casualties or injuries.
The estate reportedly violated fire safety norms, as it had done in the past, too.
