BJP senior leader Indrasena Reddy on Thursday demanded that the State government extend the proposed Comprehensive Household Survey by one week.
Speaking to media persons, Reddy said that it was impossible to cover about 86 lakh households in just one day on August 19.
Therefore, the government should extend the survey to one week to get accurate data, he suggested.
He said that the Central Government too conducts the Census over 11 days.
Indrasena Reddy also accused Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of having failed to fulfill his promise of waiving off agricultural loans.
He said that KCR did not promise a rescheduling of loans, but a complete waiver. Therefore, he must fulfill the promise without any deviations.
He said that RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan's statement against loan waivers, and the recent lathicharge on farmers, were aimed at diverting the attention of the people from the failure to deliver on promises.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not promise any waiver of farm loans, and therefore blaming the Centre for the delay was wrong. (INN)
