Senior BRS leader and former deputy chief minister T Rajaiah on Saturday submitted his resignation from the party.
Rajaiah, who is aiming to contest for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat, said that the lack of response from the BRS high command was the reason for his decision to resign from the party. The former Station Ghanpur MLA is said to be unhappy as the party had reportedly decided not to field him.
He sent his resignation letter to BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, and demanded that his resignation be accepted.
It is being reported that Rajaiah has already held talks with minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and is likely to join the Congress soon in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Rajaiah's exit comes at a time when the party is gearing up for the upcoming general elections. The development is likely to have a significant impact on the party's election preparedness and the selection of the candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha seats.
