Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar said that Finance Minister Etela Rajender's recent observations on the free double bedroom housing scheme were revelatory, and a slap on the face of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Rajender had stated that the double bedroom houses construction was going on in only KCR's, KTR's and Harish Rao's constituencies.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Ponnam demanded that the Chief Minister respond to Rajender's statement.
He also said that it was highly derogatory for the TRS leaders to say that not even animals would sleep in Indiramma houses. "It is nothing but an insult to the BCs, SCs and STs who are living in the houses," he said, and asked KCR to initiate action against the TRS leaders who spoke against the Indiramma houses and tender apologies to the BCs, SCs and STs. He said that the Congress would approach the National SC/ST Commission to lodge a complaint with it on the reprehensible statements made by the TRS leaders.
He also asked the Chief Minister, who had stated that irregularities took place in the Indiramma house constructions time and again, to tell why he was not making the ACB report on it public.
