Former minister Etala Rajender, who was
ousted from his post after serious charges of encroachment were made against him, today met with fellow party leader Dharmapuri Srinivas and his son, BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind. The three leaders spoke for more than an hour, reportedly to help Rajender plan his future political trajectory.
Sources close to the leaders say that during the meeting, they discussed at length the land grab charges levelled against Rajender, and whether or not to demand a sitting judge probe.
After being shunted out of office, Rajender has repeatedly said that he will make a decision on whether to contest again from his Huzurabad segment or not after consulting with fellow leaders and his supporters.
This meeting comes after a series of similar ones - Rajender has already met former MLC Ramulu Nayak, former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, former MLC Ravinder Reddy, and senior Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who he met yesterday.
Today's meeting however has become the topic of much discussion, especially as Dharmapuri Srinivas has himself been seeing distancing himself from the pink party.
If rumours are to be believed, the former minister will soon also meet with state BJP chief MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and various prominent leaders of the Congress, including A Revanth Reddy, as well.
Though Rajender has been removed from the state Cabinet, he has found support in veteran Congressman V Hanumantha Rao, MP Revanth Reddy, and TJS chief M Kodandaram who have all
flayed the TRS government for "targeting" the former minister out of political motivations.
A probe is currently being conducted into the leader's alleged encroachment of lands belonging to the Sri Seetha Rama Swamy temple at Shamirpet mandal's Devaryamjal village, in Medchal-Malkajgiri district by a
special enquiry committee, headed by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development commissioner M Raghunandan Rao.
