Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao inaugurated a CT scan machine worth Rs. 2.14 crore in the MGM Hospital in Warangal today.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the facilities in the government-run hospitals were being upgraded across the State, and that the poor people were getting quality treatment free of cost.
Rao said that the CT scan machine would ensure that patients didn't have to go outside for diagnostic tests, and that all emergency cases could be handled effectively and quickly right within the hospital.
He also said that an advanced X-ray machine worth about Rs. 15 lakh and an ultrasound machine worth about Rs. 40 lakh were already available in the hospital, and that an MRI scan machine worth Rs 12 crore would also be available very soon in it.
The minister added that sanitation too was very important to keep the hospital in a clean and hygienic condition, and directed the hospital superintendent to conduct cleaning works three times every day.
He also promised the contract workers in the hospital that their wages would be increased from the existing Rs. 9,800 per month to Rs. 15,500 soon.
Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani, MLC Basava Raju Saraiah, district Collector B Gopi, hospital Superintendent Valapa Dasu Chandrasekhar and other senior officials were present.
