100 More Basthi Dawakhanas In Hyderabad: K T Rama Rao
Since there was a tremendous response from the people to these primary healthcare facilities, the number would be increased to 300 in a phased manner, the minister said.
Municipal Administration and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today claimed that the Basthi Dawakhanas were offering excellent healthcare services to the people of Hyderabad, and instructed the officials concerned to take immediate steps to set up 100 more of them in the city.
Currently 197 Basthi Dawakhanas were offering free healthcare services to the poor close to their homes in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, and about 25,000 people were getting out-patient treatment in them, the minister claimed. Since there was a tremendous response from the people to these primary healthcare facilities, the number would be increased to 300 in a phased manner, he said.
"Our aim is to offer the best healthcare services to the local communities in the city," he added.
Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar and the Collectors of the concerned districts participated in the meeting.
