The Enforcement Directorate, Hyderabad zonal office, on Monday attached properties worth over Rs 47 crores pertaining to M/s Jagati Publications Ltd, M/s Janani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, and M/s Indira Television Ltd.
The case was initiated by the Central Bureau of Investigation in charge sheet No. 14 dated 10.09.2013 against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's companies M/s Jagati Publications Ltd and M/s Carmel Asia Holdings Pvt Ltd, alleging receipt of money from M/s P R Energy Holdings Ltd in return for undue benefits granted to Penna group of companies.
The investigation under PMLA, 2002, by the Enforcement Directorate revealed that M/s Carmel Asia Holdings Pvt Ltd had received Rs. 23 crores and M/s Jagati Publications Ltd had received Rs 45 crores from M/s P R Energy Holdings Ltd.
This amount of Rs. 68 crores had been received by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's companies in return for undue benefits granted to Penna group of companies including grant of mining leases and alienation of government lands.
"Investigation conducted so far revealed that out of this Rs. 68 crores, an amount of Rs. 47 crores, which constitutes the proceeds of crime, has been invested in M/s Jagati Publications Ltd, M/s Janani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and M/s Indira Telivision Ltd. Accordingly, corresponding properties were identified in the form of Fixed Assets - Plant & Machinery and Lands & Buildings with these companies, and the same were attached vide Provisional Attachment Order No. 0412014 dated 15.12.2014," said a press release from the Enforcement Directorate.
