Digvijay Singh, Andhra Pradesh Congress' in-charge, was given a warm welcome when he arrived at Visakhapatnam, on Sunday evening.
Union Minister D Purandeswari, PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, ministers Ganta Srinivas, S Sailajanath, TTD Chairman K Bapiraju, senior leaders Gade Venkat Reddy and others were present at the airport.
Although Digvijay Singh is scheduled to participate in the inauguration of the Kshtriya Kalyan Mandapam, his visit to Visakhapatnam after being appointed as the in-charge of state Congress' affairs is being considered very important, as it has coincided with the Telangana Sadhana Sabha public meeting that was held in Hyderabad.
Sources say that Digvijay Singh did not respond to the leaders' efforts to draw him into a discussion about Telangana. He reportedly told the leaders that he was on a private visit, and that he will discuss the issue after holding a meeting with the leaders in Hyderabad on Monday. (INN)
