AICC general secretary and in-charge of AP Congress Affairs Digvijay Singh, on Tuesday, appealed to the agitating Seemandhra employees to end their strike.
Talking to reporters in Delhi, Digvijay Singh said, "There is no power in hospitals, train services are being disrupted, and people are facing hardships due to the strike." He asked whether the agitation was launched to cause inconvenience to the people in Seemandhra and Telangana regions.
He appealed to the employees, especially those working with the electricity department, to call of their strike immediately.
Digvijay Singh said that the concerns raised by the employees would be addressed by the Centre and that the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has given assurance on Tuesday to resolve their issues.
Stating that it was impossible to change the decision on Telangana formation, Digvijay Singh said that the decision was taken only after all parties pledged their support in writing. When asked about Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's criticism on the decision, he said that the issue was discussed with all Congress leaders. He did not answer whether the Congress party would take an action on those speaking against the High Command. (INN)
