Rudraraju Thanks CM For Increasing Diet Charges
The state government, on Sunday, had decided to increase the diet charges in all government hostels across the state.

Government Whip in Legislative Council Rudraraju Padamaraju on Monday thanked Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for increasing mess charges for students.
The state government, on Sunday, had decided to increase the diet charges in all the government hostels across the state from December 9.
The CM made the announcement in the state Legislative Assembly during the SC-ST Sub-Plan Bill debate on Sunday.
For students of Intermediate education to those at the PG-level, the charges have been increased from Rs. 520 to Rs. 1,050. For students from the 8th to the 10th classes, the charges have been increased from Rs. 535 to Rs. 850, and for those from the 3rd to the 7th classes, they have been increased from Rs. 475 to Rs. 750.
The CM said that the move would benefit a total of 8.81 lakh students across the state. They include 3.5 lakh SCs, 2.75 lakh STs, 1.7 lakh BCs and 0.25 lakh minorities.
Talking to media persons in the Congress Legislature Party office, Rudraraju said that the mess charges were increased after eight years, and that this would provide relief to lakhs of students across the state.
Thanking the Chief Minister on behalf of CLP, he said that Kiran Kumar Reddy would always be remembered for this gesture.
Rudraraju also thanked the Chief Minister for supplying rice to government hostels at Re. 1 per kg, instead of Rs. 4. He said that these moves have benefitted lakhs of students across the state. (INN)
