Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah, on Sunday, to order an inquiry into the allegations raised against him by various Opposition parties over alleged irregularities in the Kannedharakonda mining lease.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Prasada Rao blamed the Opposition parties for raising charges against him in order to notch up political points.
Rao said that an inquiry would reveal the truth behind the allegations and also lay hollow the Opposition's charges.
The Opposition parties had, earlier, alleged that Dharmana Prasada Rao had used his official influence to award the lease in Kannedharakonda mines to his son, in violation of norms.
