Devotees Throng Sai Baba Temples On Guru Purnima
Thousands of devotees visited the popular temples in Dilsukhnagar, Dwarakapuri Colony, Padmarao Nagar and Film Nagar, and offered special pujas to the saint.
On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima on Friday, devotees of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba thronged his temples all over the country from the early hours.
Sai temples reverberated with chants of "Sai Shiva Hari Om" by ecstatic devotees throughout the day.
In the main temple for him in Shirdi in Maharashtra, the saint, considered an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, was given Haarathi four times on the occasion of Guru Poornima.
Sai Baba temples in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also saw hordes of devotees through the day.
In Telangana, especially in its capital city of Hyderabad, thousands of devotees visited the popular Sai Baba temples in Dilsukhnagar, Dwarakapuri Colony, Padmarao Nagar and Film Nagar, and offered "Palabhishekhams" and special pujas to the departed saint.
There were serpentine queues at the temples, and police officials found it difficult to manage the devotees who had arrived in large numbers.
Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and TDP MLA Maganti Gopi also performed special pujas at Sai temples for his blessings.
