State Finance Minister T Harish Rao today said that the government had included dengue fever to the list of permissible diseases of the Aarogyasri scheme.
He said that the government would issue orders to all private network hospitals to offer dengue treatment free of cost to all Aarogyasri cardholders in their hospitals.
He made these remarks while replying to questions in the Assembly on the issue of the rise of mosquitoes in Hyderabad.
Rao said that the intensity of the dengue fever had come down in Telangana compared to 2018-19. He said that the state had recorded 6,362 dengue cases in 2018, 13,361 cases in 2019 and 4,694 cases so far in 2021. The state had not recorded many cases of dengue in 2020 as most people did not venture out of their houses that year, he said.
The minister informed the Assembly that the government would take up measures to prevent the spread of mosquitoes in the capital. He said that the government had issued orders for the appointment of ad hoc staff on a temporary basis to prevent staff shortage problems in the government hospitals of the state.
