Speaker Madhusudhana Chary said he would act upon the demands for disqualification of the Congress and TDP defectors to the TRS "at an appropriate time".
Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary said that the decision on the demands received from the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party seeking disqualification of MLAs who had defected to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, would be taken at an appropriate time.
Speaking to media persons after adjourning the Assembly sine die on Saturday, the Speaker said that he would act upon the complaints as per the rules.
When asked about the status of the two BSP MLAs who gave a letter informing about their merger with the TRS, he said that the formalities were yet to be completed in this regard. He said that the BSP MLAs were treated as a separate Party in the House, and accordingly about one hour of time was allotted to them for discussions.
For those who came in late, the Congress Legislature Party had lodged a complaint with the Speaker demanding the disqualification of MLAs Vithal Reddy, S Redya Naik, Kanakaiah and K Yadaiah who had defected to the TRS.
Similarly, the TDP too had sought the disqualification of Teegala Krishna Reddy, T Srinivas Yadav and C Dharma Reddy who had recently switched loyalties to the TRS. (INN)
